Life at Winston

In Winston’s 10th showing at Cycle for Survival, five Winston teams collectively raised $90,000 for the fight to find cures for rare cancers—a 20% increase over last year’s record-breaking haul. 

Thank you to the 200+ lawyers and business professionals who helped prepare 3,600+ care packages for people and families experiencing homelessness or poverty in our local communities. We appreciate your generosity of spirit and commitment to honoring and keeping Dr. King’s legacy of community service alive.

Each year, a dedicated team of Winston attorneys and business professionals tutor a group of 11^thgraders attending Thurgood Marshall Academy, a college-prep public charter high school in the District of Columbia’s Anacostia neighborhood.

From California to New York and across the Atlantic in London and Paris, Winston attorneys and business professionals helped ensure that those who are less fortunate had plenty of toys, food, and warm clothing for the winter holidays.

Winston for Good partnered with the firm’s pro bono client Access Bronx Charter to develop and launch a mentorship program for its students.

Winston’s Los Angeles office is a long-time sponsor of Read to a Child, a nonprofit that pairs elementary school children with volunteer mentors who read aloud to them every week for 30 minutes.

For more than a decade, Winston’s Silicon Valley office has given back to the community by actively participating in the legal community’s annual Food From The Bar fundraiser and volunteer event.

Winston is a longtime supporter of Martha’s Table, a nonprofit committed to advancing a more equitable Washington, D.C. by providing educational opportunities, physical and mental health services, and healthy food to those in need.

For nearly a decade, Charlotte office attorneys and business professionals have actively supported Roof Above, an interfaith nonprofit that provides a wide range of services to people and families who are experiencing homelessness.

Our Summer Associates joined forces with attorneys and professional staff from coast to coast in the United States to make an intentional impact in our communities. 

Winston for Good volunteers in London recently hosted a career day for 20 A-Level students who attend Harris Federation academies in London and Essex.

Twenty-one members of the Dallas office donned construction hats and wielded hammers to help bring a local family’s dream of owning a home to fruition. The handy Winston for Good volunteers included partners, associates, summer associates, and professional staff.

On June 13, Paris partner Grine Lahreche entered the boxing ring to test his mettle in the White-Collar Challenge and raise money for Papillons du Ciel—an association that supports the education of children on a tiny island in Madagascar. Grine vanquished his opponent with a knock-out in the first round! 

Peter Crowther is perhaps best known as Winston’s recently named Managing Partner, International Affairs, and a member of the newly created Office of the Chair, but he is also a philanthropist extraordinaire.

Winston teams, representing six U.S. offices, joined Cycle for Survival riders around the country to raise money to fund a cure for rare cancers.

In conjunction with Black History Month, our New York office hosted youth from The Fresh Air Fund—a not-for-profit youth development organization—for a panel on Black Excellence in the Law.

Winston for Good volunteers from across the U.S. and in London turned out in force to pay homage to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s unwavering commitment to civil rights and community service. More than 200 attorneys and professional staff assembled 2,600+ care packages, which will be distributed within our communities.
